Bell’s Inequality & Quantum Entanglement

Bell’s Inequality

SCROLL ↓

Scientific Context
In 1964, John Bell formulated an inequality that challenged the deepest assumptions of classical physics. His question was simple yet revolutionary:
If two particles interact and then separate, do their properties remain linked — even across vast distances — or do they become independent, as classical logic demands?

In experiments by Alain Aspect (1981–1982, École Polytechnique) and later Anton Zeilinger’s team (2015, Vienna), pairs of entangled photons were measured while kilometers apart. Every time one photon was measured, its twin instantly mirrored the result — no matter the distance.
This instantaneous link defied Einstein’s notion of “local reality,” leading him to call it “spooky action at a distance.”

“What we find is that the world is profoundly interconnected in a way classical physics could never explain.”
— Alain Aspect, Nobel Lecture, 2022

In short, Bell’s theorem and its confirming experiments show that the universe is not a machine of isolated parts — it is a living network of relationships.

Philosophical Bridge
Entanglement suggests that what happens “here” cannot be fully separated from what happens “there.”
It is as if the universe breathes through one shared lung — each particle a cell in a cosmic organism.
The idea of “independent existence” begins to fade; in its place emerges a whisper of oneness — a universal consciousness that links all things.

Rumi’s Reflection

“We are not two, we are not one.
Look at this shining: how it is the same in both.”
— Rumi

To Rumi, love was the force of entanglement — a bond without distance or delay.
When two souls truly know each other, they no longer communicate — they resonate.
In that resonance, the boundary between self and other dissolves.
Bell’s Inequality is not broken by chance — it is broken by connection.
